Chippenham and Villages Environmentalists (CAVE ) members are all volunteers who are interested in protecting the environment and improving our local area. The group provides a voice for local people and gives them the opportunity to contribute to a better future for us all.
CAVE holds regular evening meetings in the upper room of the Rose and Crown in Chippenham. There are often presentations from speakers on a variety of topics that relate to environmental issues. New people are always very welcome to come along. Have a look at the Events link to find out when our next meeting is.
CAVE has worked on a number of projects, including a Plastic Bag Amnesty (pictured above), a campaign to help Chippenham get Fairtrade Town Status and various activities connected with tackling climate change. We recently held a free screening of the Age of Stupid film to make raise awareness of the seriousness of this issue.
Our latest project , Thermal Imaging, will be offering targeted areas the opportunity to have a thermal image taken of their home. Homeowners will then be shown how they can save energy by making changes to their home, though follow-up sessions held in their local area.
